What ages is NextGen Art League designed for?

NextGen Art League is thoughtfully designed for young artists ages 3–6, 6–9, and 9–12, with curriculum tailored to each stage of development. As the League grows, we'll continue expanding with programs for teens and adults—because creativity doesn't come with an expiration date.

Our hope is that every child leaves the League not only with stronger artistic skills, but with the confidence to see the world a little differently—and the courage to create it.

Not at all! Most projects can be completed with affordable, easy-to-find supplies, and we'll provide recommended supply lists with options for a variety of budgets.

That said, we also believe that an occasional little splurge can make a big impact. Sometimes painting on a real canvas instead of paper, or using a few higher-quality materials, helps children take pride in their work and see themselves as "real artists." It's amazing how a simple upgrade can inspire confidence and make the creative experience even more special.

The goal isn't to buy the most expensive supplies—it's to give every child the opportunity to create artwork they're proud of.

Absolutely! That's one of the greatest advantages of online learning.

Your child can pause the lesson, rewind to watch a technique again, skip ahead, take a snack break, or come back later when they're ready. There's no pressure to keep up with anyone else, allowing every young artist to learn in the way that works best for them.

That said, we encourage families to schedule a regular "art practice" each week—just like they would for soccer practice, dance class, or piano lessons. Creating a consistent routine helps children build confidence, develop new skills, and look forward to their creative time as an important part of their week.

After all, artists deserve practice time just as much as athletes do.

All of our lessons are self-paced, so your child can create whenever it fits your family's schedule. Pause, replay, and revisit lessons as often as you'd like—there's no rush and no pressure.

But don't be surprised if you see Miss Sheila pop in from time to time! As the League grows, we'll occasionally host live painting demonstrations, Q&A sessions, artist meet-ups, gallery openings, special announcements, and other fun events to bring our creative community together.

Think of the lessons as always being available, with a few exciting surprises sprinkled in throughout the year!

Each month, you'll receive everything you need to complete that month's artist study, projects, and creative challenges. Your family can work through the lessons whenever it's convenient, at your own pace.

Heading to the beach? Visiting grandparents? Busy with soccer tournaments or family vacations? No problem! Your lessons will be waiting when you get back, ready whenever your young artist is.

Absolutely! We encourage siblings to create together and turn their home into its very own NextGen Art League Art Club.

Each child can create their own unique artwork, cheer one another on, and work together toward earning badges, certificates, and creative milestones as a family. Some of our favorite memories are made around the kitchen table, where everyone is creating, laughing, and encouraging one another.

After all, creativity is even more fun when it's shared.

Please Note: A membership is designed for one household, so siblings are warmly encouraged to create together! Families earn badges, certificates, and milestone achievements as one creative team, making art a fun experience to share and celebrate together.

NextGen Art League is designed as a creative season, giving young artists the time to build skills, confidence, and lasting creative habits.

When you join, you're signing up for the membership term you choose—3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. At the end of your membership, you'll have the opportunity to renew and continue your creative journey with us.

We believe that meaningful growth happens over time, and we're excited to support your family every step of the way.

Every month, your child will learn new artistic techniques by studying one of the world's great master artists. Through guided projects, they'll build the skills, confidence, and understanding behind that artist's unique style.

Then comes the fun part!

The League Challenge is inspired by a prompt from Miss Sheila. It might encourage children to paint from a different perspective, use unexpected colors, add their own creative twist, or experiment with a new technique.

For the Artist's Choice Challenge, your child becomes the artist. Instead of copying someone else's subject, they'll use the techniques they've learned to create an original piece based on something they love—a favorite pet, a family member, a magical creature, a vacation memory, or anything else that sparks their imagination.

The goal isn't to copy the masters forever. The goal is to learn from them, then use those skills to discover your own artistic voice.

Because every great artist starts by learning the fundamentals... and then creates something uniquely their own.
